ZEST ‘19 by College of Engineering, Pune

ZEST ‘19 is the annual, national-level sports extravaganza organized by the College of Engineering, Pune.

Hosting 21 different sports through 88 challenging events spread across 3 grounds across Pune, ZEST is truly a coliseum for all sports. Now into its 17th edition, ZEST aims to scale greater heights than ever before. We garner an annual footfall of 18,000 – 20,000 on the 4 days of the event 24th to 27th january 2019

ZEST is already ranked among the top 5 sports festivals in India.

The theme of Zest'19- "Transcending Boundaries", is an honest effort from our side to spread awareness about adaptive sports, and empower para-sports players.

Along with the sports competitions which take place in 4 days of the event, this year we are going to organize:

1) Corporate badminton tournament (6th-7th Oct 2018)
2) Open Marathon (20th January 2019)- "If you want to run, run a mile. If you want to experience a different life, run a marathon."

With huge success for Marathon last time, COEP ZEST is proud to announce this year's OPEN MARATHON, which is a platform for all participants of all age categories running alongside with determined para-athletes who have worked really hard to transcend their boundaries. ZEST'19 aims to inculcate and promote healthy lifestyle among the people, so that they live their life to the fullest.Under the patronage of Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center for Armed Forces (PRC), this is going to be first marathon in Pune where Para-athletes would compete.

3) Cyclothon (13th January 2019)- Pune is recently being noted for its high vehicle density where people rely on private transport rather than public transport.

COEP ZEST came up with a solution for this. Zest presenting the first edition of cyclothon in association with Indo Cyclist Club and is under the patronage of Pune Municipal corporation's Pune Cycle plan. ZEST'19 aims to inculcate a habit of cycling among Punekars and take up cycling as a measure to tackle the environmental issues.Under the patronage of Pune Municipal Corporation's Pune Cycle Plan, we intend to spread awareness about the environment.

4) Free self-defense workshops for women - It is rightly said ”Self-defense is not only our right; it is our duty."

ZEST'19 is adding feather in its cap by expanding the reach of "Abhedya" the woman self-defense workshop to 6 cities across Maharashtra. (January 2019): Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Sangli.

The Pune workshop is to be held on 19th of this month and all the workshops are free of cost. The workshops are being held under the patronage of "Maharashtra State Mahila Aayog".Eminent personalities like Mrs.Tejaswini Sawant and Mrs.Lalita Babar graced the inauguration of our festival, on 9th October 2018.
